The LPO's Mission

  • Promote the welfare and education of Lafayette High School Students

  • Support the School in improving education in cooperation with administrative policy

  • Raise funds for programs and materials to enhance education

  • Bring about a closer relationship between the home and school that parents and teachers may work cooperatively in the education of our students

  • Foster communication, cooperation, support, information and education within the Rockwood School District and LHS, including district and LHS staff, students, parents and the general community.

LPO Extended Board Positions

Class of 2026 Class Director(s):
If you are a person who wants to connect with your students grade-level class and with your class administrator this is for you! You represent your class on the LPO Board and keep your class informed about what is happening at LHS.


Class of 2028 Class Director(s):
If you are a person who wants to connect with your students grade-level class and with your class administrator this is for you! You represent your class on the LPO Board and keep your class informed about what is happening at LHS.


Class of 2028 Treasurer:
Class Treasurer is responsible for the grade-level finances.

Lancer Landing School Store Day Manager(s):
Store Day Manager Volunteers work every week during the morning or lunch shift.  Store Day Managers are responsible for opening the school store, making sure it is set for the shift, and closing the store at the end of the shift.  The Store Manager will have additional parent volunteers to assist during their shift.  Day Managers communicate regularly with the Store Managers. Time frame – Throughout the school year



LPO Community Events - Homecoming
This volunteer role does NOT plan homecoming for the school.  This role supports the LPO's involvement in the homecoming events.  Volunteers secure and coordinate judges for the homecoming parade, set up and tear down the judges stand in the neighboring subdivision before and after the parade, provides magnetic signs for the administrators vehicles that will be participating in the parade.  Time frame - Late September/early October


LPO Community Events - Special Olympics
This volunteer role does NOT plan the Special Olympics for the school.  LHS host the special olympics for the district schools.  The LHS student volunteers and administration organize and run the event.  This role supports the LPO's involvement in the Special Olympics.  Volunteers purchase snacks and food to sell at the concessions stand during the event.  There is no cooking involved.  There are additional volunteer opportunities to assist with Special Olympics the day of the event and that sign up is published spring semester.  Time frame - April


LPO Community Events - Volleyball Challenge
This volunteer role does NOT plan the Volleyball Challenge for the school. LHS hosts the annual Volleyball Challenge for the LHS quadrant schools. This event brings together the LHS quadrant schools staff for a volleyball tournament. The LHS student volunteers and administration organize and run the event. This role supports the LPO's involvement in the Volleyball Challenge. Volunteers purchase snacks and food to sell at the concessions stand during the event. There is no cooking involved. Volunteers also purchase gift cards for the winning volleyball team.  Additional volunteers help run the concession stand the evening of the event. Time frame - April


Class of 2025 Events Chair(s):
Chairs are responsible for organizing and executing the class events & fundraiser.


Class of 2026 Events Chair(s):
Chairs are responsible for organizing and executing the class events & fundraiser.


Class of 2027 Events Chair(s):
Chairs are responsible for organizing and executing the class events & fundraiser.


Class of 2028 Events Chair(s):
Chairs are responsible for organizing and executing the class events and fundraiser.


Staff Appreciation Chair(s):
These volunteers work closely to plan staff dinners and staff recognition throughout the school year.

Staff Appreciation (staff dinners): Volunteers help set-up and serve dinners to the staff before parent/teacher conferences, and end-of-year luncheon.   Time frame – Fall and Spring Semester 

Staff Appreciation (staff recognition):  Volunteers organize and execute monthly staff recognition days.   Time frame – Monthly/Bi-monthly throughout the school year
