Be A Star!

The Math and Reading Stars program helps encourage your 1^st - 5^th grade child to practice important skills!  Each student who earns 24 stars in math or reading (or both!) by mid-April will receive a medal for his/her extra work. Medals are given out at the end of the school year!

Program Requirements:

Each 1^st – 5^th grade student who earns 24 stars in math or reading (or both!) will receive a medal to recognize their extra work. Remember, each star represents:

• 30 minutes of extra math practice
• 1 hour of extra reading beyond what is expected for his/her grade level

Math & Reading Star Tracking Sheets:

Color in (or put a sticker on) one star on the Math or Reading Tracking Sheet linked below when your student completes: 

• 30 minutes of extra math practice 
  Math Star Form
• 1 hour of extra reading beyond what is expected for his/her grade level
  Reading Star Form

The Math and Reading Stars Program will be tracked at home, not by your teachers.  Tracking Sheets do not need to be turned in and are designed to help track and provide a visual encouragement as you complete extra math and reading practice at home.  Parents will be asked to complete a short form at the completion of the program (mid-April) to recognize their Math and Reading Stars with a medal.  This completion form will be distributed in the PTA eblast and will be linked here on the PTA website in April.
