Revitalize the Asset.

Invest in the Future.

Thank you for joining us in transforming the original 1971 New Canaan High School planetarium into a space with limitless educational opportunities for students and our community.

The 51 year old planetarium is currently undergoing major modernization to support the needs of today’s students funded by the town and community.

The Star campaign has officially ended. For additional inquiries, please contact info@renovatethedome.com.

Transforming into The Dome

Thank You!

Parents, friends and our town have stepped up in a big way. In true New Canaan fashion, the community has come together and raised the $850,000 needed to transform the space.

Spitz Digistar 7 Demo Feedback

  • "The planetarium is one of New Canaan's best kept secrets. Kudos to you for inviting the public. I love the idea of opening it up to all the schools and the public."

    Sue Benko

  • "I was very impressed seeing how much you can do and how it can be incorporated into different curriculum areas."

    Ronna Van Veghel

  • "I was impressed not only with the level of technology to look at the stars and planets in our galaxy, but also the systems ability to cross over into other studies at NCHS including Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences."

    Steve Karl

  • β€œFrom the Space race in the 1960's, to the Space Shuttle, the Space station, the Hubble telescope, and now the stunning images from the James Webb space telescope, we have been fortunate to live through, and observe the advancement of science, research, and space travel. May the inspiration and advancement forever continue.”

    Todd Lavieri

  • I went to the planetarium with my son's preschool class (Toddlertime) when I first moved to New Canaan in 2018. It was so impressive (even if it was a bit of a time warp!). The new design is amazing and will be a huge asset for the community.
