We've split the lunch volunteer opportunities into two shorter shifts to hopefully allow more parents to volunteer. We're also combining the roles of lunchroom volunteer and hallway greeter so that the two volunteers can take turns helping the kiddos in the lunchroom and acting as a school ambassador to visiting parents.In the lunchroom, volunteers will:
- help students get through the lunch line
- help students open lunch items as needed (ask them to try first)
- help students line up to return to class
- wipe down tables as needed
- help lunch time run smoothly & safely
This is also a great opportunity to just chat with the kiddos & get to know them during a fun, unstructured time in their day.
In the hallway, volunteers will:
- greet parents and students as they enter
- direct traffic so everyone knows where to (and not to) go
We ask that you please wear a mask while volunteering in the lunchroom to protect our students since they are unable to wear masks while eating.
Per LISD, masks are requested for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.
