Final Concert Dates Confirmed

Dear Hamilton Music Families:

It's hard to believe we have less the TWO MONTHS of school left.

Our young musicians are still hard at work preparing for final trips and summer concerts. In response to our recent parent survey, we'd like to highlight the final summer concert dates:

Jazz Night - June 1, 7pm

Choir Concert - June 8, 6:30pm

Band Concert - June 15, 7pm

Orchestra Concert (at Ballad HS) - June 20, 7pm

Keep your eyes open for emails from Ms. Pence and Mr. Ogle for sign-up opportunities to help with concert operations, bake sales, etc.

FOMAHI is actively recruiting new officers and volunteers as we continue building an even better music program next year! Please see details elsewhere in this newsletter, come to a meeting, and/or reach out to any of us or a music director.

The FOMAHI Board

Hold the Date - Taco Night, June 1st

FOMAHI has arranged with Fremont neighborhood favorite, Pecado Bueno, to host a Taco Night fundraiser on June 1st. More details to come via FOMAHI email and from music directors.

For those going to the Jazz Concert that evening, this fundraiser will open its doors at 5pm!

Concert Attire Collection

In an effort to make sure all students have black concert attire, Ms Pence and FOMAHI have organized a Concert Attire Collection. If your student needs (or forgets) concert attire, they can borrow from this rack. Please wash and return!

Have spare concert pants or shirts? Please have your student drop off clean attire to their music director.

Help us help Hamilton music in 2023/24

FOMAHI is a 100% volunteer organization run by parents of Hamilton music students. We organize other parents and activities in support of the Band, Choir, and Orchestra programs.

As we look ahead to the next school year, FOMAHI needs a new Treasurer. To ease the transition, we are seeking a 'Shadow/Assistant Treasurer' for the remainder of the 2022/23 school year who can learn the ropes from current Treasurer, Jason Emery. If you want to volunteer in this area, please reach out to fomahi.treasurer@gmail.com

Other positions that will be open next year include Fundraising Chair(s), Orchestra Co-chair, and Volunteer Coordinator(s).

FOMAHI officers typically stay in touch over email and often have an informal, late-August get together to discuss the new school year. If you're interested in position, please reach out to any current officer (emails found elsewhere in this newsletter) or, attend our next meeting!

Here's a rough outline of the responsibilities. Incumbents are happy to share tips with new officers - and we all cover for one another when any one of us is particularly busy or has a scheduling conflict!

We support the music program through keeping parents up-to-date, organizing volunteers, facilitating field trips, providing scholarships and supplies – and more!
