As the school year comes to a close, I am excited about all of the end-of-the-year festivities we get to experience with our students. In addition to class parties, concerts, Pirates' Day, and the 8th grade banquet, we have opportunities to celebrate student successes. We recognized students for their academic excellence and character in our Pirate’s Creed assemblies held by grade-level on Tuesday, May 24. We will be celebrating student groups, teams and clubs from spring semester on Wednesday, May 25 during our schoolwide pep-rally at the end of Pirates' Day. It is a real privilege to be able to highlight our students’ growth. There is so much to celebrate!
Thank you, PTO, for providing a wonderful partnership with our school. It has been a great year! Your support and ongoing generosity is an investment in our teachers and staff, and it is much appreciated! We are grateful.
We hope all of our families at Pizitz enjoy the summer months.
Sincerely,
Alicia Hunsberger

From the PTO President
Dear Pizitz Families,
We have had a wonderful year at Pizitz; thank you so much for your support of our PTO through your donations, your volunteer hours and your support across the board. We have been working hard right up until the end of the year. Thank you especially to room parents for helping organize the year-end class parties.
Our Supply & Book Sale is a major fundraiser for our PTO programs, and it's open now! We have moved sales to May/June this year; make sure you order supplies before the deadline on June 10. Kits will not be available for purchase in July; they need to be purchased now for the delivery in August. See your email for more information.
Be watching for PTO membership renewal to come via email in early July. We're looking forward to another great school year starting in August. Until then, happy summer everyone!

VHCS Foundation
The Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization created to provide ongoing and dependable funding for Vestavia Hills City Schools. Our school system is among the best in the country; the Foundation provides grants to help keep our school system at its best. These grants benefit every grade level, every academic subject area and every student in every Vestavia school. Making an investment in the Foundation helps fill in funding gaps that can make the difference between a good school system and a great one.
Today, the Foundation funds grants with the investment proceeds from its $3.5 million endowment. Our goal is to increase the endowment to the 5-million mark, which will increase the amount of grants the Foundation can contribute to Vestavia Hills schools.
We hope that every family in Vestavia Hills will make a pledge to the Foundation. Your pledge can be paid over a period of five years and is 100% tax deductible.
Please help us fund our schools TODAY, to ensure a better TOMORROW.
You may visit our website www.vestaviafoundation.org for more information about pledges and donations.

Donate Through Publix Partners!
Register online with Club Publix (https://www.publix.com/myaccount/register) and select Pizitz Middle School as your Publix Partner. Please make sure your account is still active and up-to-date or re-register if you need to. Confirming your account and Publix Partner school can be tricky. On a mobile device, log in via your web browser (not the Publix app), then swipe across the menu options in the middle of the screen. Select “My Publix Partner” to select or confirm your account is linked to Pizitz. When you checkout at Publix, enter your phone number into the keypad. It is that easy! Our last check from Publix was more than $400, so this partnership is meaningful to our school!
